About GovernmentiPhone.org
An independent guide to free government iPhone programs — built to make Lifeline simple.
Our Mission
Millions of Americans qualify for a free government iPhone through the Lifeline program — but confusing official sites, outdated articles, and outright scams keep many from applying. GovernmentiPhone.org exists to fix that: clear, current, step-by-step guidance that takes you from “do I qualify?” to a phone at your door.
We’re an independent information website. We’re not a government agency, we don’t process applications, and we don’t sell phones. We research the programs, verify the providers, and explain it all in plain English.
✅ What We Do
- Explain eligibility in plain language
- Compare providers side by side
- Build free tools: checkers, calculators, trackers
- Update content when programs change
- Link to official application sites
🚫 What We Don’t Do
- Process or approve applications
- Charge any fees — ever
- Collect applications or documents
- Promise specific phone models
- Share your data with marketers
How We Keep Information Accurate
- Primary sources first — the FCC, USAC, and state commissions (like California’s CPUC and the Texas PUC) outrank everything.
- Dated verification — provider tables carry “verified” dates so you can see how fresh the data is.
- Corrections welcome — spot something outdated? Tell us and we’ll fix it.
How We Make Money
Transparency matters: this site is supported by display advertising. Ads never influence our provider comparisons or recommendations — and we’ll always tell you when content is sponsored (it isn’t, currently).
